Bart G. Hudson
Executive Director, Florida House

Bart Hudson, a third generation Floridian, is from Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was educated in the Okaloosa County public school system where he graduated from Choctawhatchee High School. He attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama where he received his B.A. in each of the Behavioral Science disciplines.

After college, Mr. Hudson returned to Fort Walton Beach and assumed a management role in his family's solid waste management and disposal firm. He was instrumental in expanding the family's interests into real estate development including multi-family housing projects and retail/commercial developments. In 1985, Mr. Hudson and his family sold their waste management firm to Waste Management, Inc. He joined the staff of Waste Management as Sales Manager in the panhandle region and eventually was promoted to Marketing Representative for the Southeast Region. In 1991, Mr. Hudson left Waste Management to return to the helm of his family's business interests.

While in Florida, Mr. Hudson was involved in a number of civic and charitable organizations. He was involved in local politics, arts and education, Leadership Okaloosa and sat on the boards of several charitable organizations. He was citizen of the year in 1984.

In 1999, Mr. Hudson became Executive Director of Florida House, in Washington, D.C. There, he manages the daily operation of Florida's embassy in our nation's capital. With over 10,000 visiting Floridians, it is Mr. Hudson's responsibility to ensure that each receives "gracious, unparalleled hospitality." In addition, he is charged with facilitating the efforts of the Board of Trustees and ensuring the financial viability of Florida House.

Julianne M. Mica
Manager of Operations, Florida House

A sixth generation Floridian, Julianne Mica serves Florida House as the Manager of Operations. In addition to visitor hospitality and goodwill efforts, she assists in the development and planning of special events and administrative operations.

Julianne is proud to have attended Leon High, one of the nation's oldest public high schools located in Tallahassee, Florida. Also, along with all five members of her family, Julianne attended the University of Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family, Youth and Community Science specializing in nonprofits and education. During summer of 2008, Julianne was chosen to complete her nonprofit practicum at The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
